Skiing and Snowboarding at Newtonmore Holiday Cottages

The location of Newtonmore Holiday Cottages in the center of the highlands close to Aviemore and Dalwhinnie offer skiers & boarders a choice of venues "Cairngorms and Nevis Range", doubling your opportunities to get on to the snow and with different challenges, runs & routes.

Just half an hour away, the Cairngorms are Scotland 's premier ski area, with Downhill, Snowboarding, Telemark along with Sledging for the kids is all well catered for. Since 1961, Cairn Gorm has been a major winter sports destination and still offers skiers and boarders some of the best and most challenging runs in Scotland. Added to that, it has the only mountain railway in Scotland which transports skiers up to the higher lying snowfields in total comfort and safety in only a few minutes.  Boarders looking for a few more thrills (and possibly some spills) should check out the Vans Terrain Park located at the top of the Ptarmigan bowl at the Cairngorm Mountain.

A little further way, 45 minutes or so, is the smaller, more intimate Nevis Range for a change of scenery.  The Nevis Range offers the highest skiing in Scotland , with a great record for good snow-conditions running late into the season. Situated in the shadow of Ben Nevis , the pistes have a stunning backdrop with some of the most spectacular views that any of the Scottish Ski Areas have to offer ! We will happily make arrangements for you for the hire of ski equipment & clothing and for any tuition that you feel you'd like.
