Castles and Houses in the Highlands of Scotland

Castles & Houses

Around an hour awayfrom Newtonmore Holiday Cottages  up the Spey Valley is the fabulous Ballindalloch Castle . This is a stunning building with equally impressive gardens that is both home of the only Lady Laird in Scotland and a working estate rather than a museum piece.

Less than 30 minutes south of us you'll find Blair Castle, another superb building & home to the Earl of Atholl, the only man in Britain allowed to maintain a private army!!

Just south of Nairn, you'll find Cawdor Castle - famous as the haunt of Macbeth in the Shakespeare play of that ilk and fascinating to visit, with lovely gardens too.

In addition to visiting some of Scotland’s romantic Country Houses, Castles & Estates, there is so much else to do here in the Highlands on one of our short breaks. Click here for our latest accommodation offers.
